Yvon Plancher
Yvon Plancher boasts an impressive eighteen (18) years of professional law enforcement experience. He embarked on his enforcement journey in November 2000 with the Fort Myers Police Department, starting as a Community Service Aide and progressing to Police Officer by December 2001. Throughout his tenure, he undertook roles in Patrol, J.A.M Unit (Juvenile, Arrest and Monitor), and served as a Cross-designated Special Investigator for the State Attorney’s office. Yvon Plancher holds various certificates, including Community Policing, Police Biking, CIT (Crisis Intervention Training), Anti-Terrorism, and Hostage Negotiation.
Mr. Plancher holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Business Administration. He is a certified instructor in Use of Force, NRA Pistol Instruction, Field Training Officer, Florida General Instructor Techniques Course, Security Officer Instruction License, Private Investigation License, and Security Agency and Security School and training facility License in the State of Florida. Additionally, Mr. Plancher possesses D, G, DI, M Security licenses with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
From August 2006 to August 2008, Yvon Plancher served as a United Nations Police officer during the peacekeeping mission in Haiti with MINUSTAH. He worked as a Use-Of-Force instructor at the Police Academy and later became the Section Chief Supervisor of the Field Coaching Unit, providing advanced training in various areas. Mr. Plancher supervised a team of fifteen United Nations Police Officers responsible for training the Haitian National Police.
Between February 2008 and November 2010, Mr. Plancher returned for a second tour as a United Nations Police Investigator with MINUSTAH in Haiti. He served as the Section Chief Supervisor for the Vetting Unit, conducting thorough background investigations on Haitian national police and civilians. These investigations included employment, personal, credit, and neighborhood checks to assess applicants' moral character. Additionally, Mr. Plancher participated in evaluations to determine the suitability of applicants for employment.
In November 2010, Mr. Plancher joined the United Nations Secretariat Headquarters in New York as a Security and Safety Officer with the Department of Security and Safety (DSS). He underwent Basic Security Officer Training at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where his responsibilities included enforcing rules and policies, providing security for staff and visitors, overseeing international meetings, monitoring security cameras, and performing assigned tasks.
Returning to the Fort Myers Police Department in November 2011 until March 2018, Officer Plancher resumed his role as a police officer. In March 2018, he transitioned from the public sector to the private sector, establishing Plancher Security and Investigation, LLC. As the proud owner and CEO, he delivers top-tier safety, security, and private investigation services in the State of Florida.
